Your hosts Karen & Alison look forward to extending you a warm welcome to the Blue Swallow Guest House

Ideally situated on the edge of the historic market town of Penrith, the Blue Swallow Guest House is a charming Victorian town house built in 1851.  The guest house offers 7 comfortable and well presented rooms and is within easy walking distance of the town centre, bus and railway stations.

Penrith is situated just outside the Lake District National Park, located at the crossroads of the A66 and M6 (J40). Its central location within Cumbria makes it an ideal spot from which to explore the Lake District, Eden Valley, North Pennines and Hadrian’s Wall.

The C2C cycle route passes through Penrith and the town has been designated Cumbria’s first Cycling Hub. The Blue Swallow offers walkers and cyclists drying facilities and secure cycle storage.

Highly recommend the Blue Swallow guest house. Karen & Alison were exceptional hosts. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was superb. We will be back next year!

Exceedingly warm welcome and fantastic ‘little extras’ such as the fudge and homemade cakes. Room, bathroom, dining room all comfortable and well kept … If I’m ever back in Penrith, will use again!

Welcoming, friendly and comfortable – what a great stay!
Loved the chilled, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Great breakfast, the hosts went out of their way to accommodate dietary needs (vegan) and made me feel at home.

Everything about Blue Swallow was spot on. The owners ensured you were well looked after. The choices at breakfast were excellent. The best B&B we have ever stayed in. Definitely one to return too.

Karen and Alison made our one night stay very enjoyable, we found facilities in the room as near to home comforts as is possible. Karen and Alison are welcoming, kind and have just the kind of nature required for a bed and breakfast. By the way the breakfast was (wow) and served with a smile.

A proper gem of a B&B

C2C stop – great little B and B – nice little touches like drinks on arrival after a hard day in the saddle and flapjack and fudge to keep us going for day 2 – really needed it! Rooms clean and fresh – just the right size. Breakfast fab – have the porridge – delicious – as well as full English – great for energy boost. Book early!

Solid, traditional B&B made exceptional by the small touches.

This was the perfect place to stay after spending the previous 3 hours in the lashing rain. Rooms were super comfy & the shower was amazing! A real home from home. Food was amazing too! We were even given a little homemade flapjack to take on our bike journey for the next day. Perfect place to stay if you are cycling the c2c or even if you are not. I would definitely stay here again!
