Your hosts Karen & Alison look forward to extending you a warm welcome to the Blue Swallow Guest House

Ideally situated on the edge of the historic market town of Penrith, the Blue Swallow Guest House is a charming Victorian town house built in 1851.  The guest house offers 7 comfortable and well presented rooms and is within easy walking distance of the town centre, bus and railway stations.

Penrith is situated just outside the Lake District National Park, located at the crossroads of the A66 and M6 (J40). Its central location within Cumbria makes it an ideal spot from which to explore the Lake District, Eden Valley, North Pennines and Hadrian’s Wall.

The C2C cycle route passes through Penrith and the town has been designated Cumbria’s first Cycling Hub. The Blue Swallow offers walkers and cyclists drying facilities and secure cycle storage.

Wonderful stay, room, food, people superb!

12 of used the Blue Swallow as a stopover for a C2C bike ride. Alison and Karen made us very welcome, despite arriving wet after 8 hours cycling in the rain. The rooms are very, very clean and comfortable with nice hot showers. They cooked individual breakfasts for all of us, nothing was too much trouble. Good value worth every penny. Ideal stopover for C2C cyclists. Highly recommended by all our group.

Very pleasant guest house, comfortable bed, spotlessly clean en-suite bathroom, a wide selection of complimentary teas, biscuits and homemade fudge, fabulous breakfast. The owners are very welcoming and their service is first class, I highly recommend a visit. Really lovely, 10 out of 10.

Welcoming, comfortable and good breakfast. Really friendly and welcoming hosts. As others say, wonderfully clean! I had an early start and I was still given a proper and very nice breakfast. Great place.

The hosts were brilliant. On arrival, soaked to the skin having completed a stage of the Coast 2 Coast, wet kit washed and dried, outstanding.
