Our Guest House
Ideally situated on the edge of the historic market town of Penrith, the Blue Swallow Guest House is a charming Victorian town house built in 1851. The guest house offers 7 comfortable and well presented rooms and is within easy distance of the town centre, bus and railway stations.
Penrith is situated just outside the Lake District National Park, located at the crossroads of the A66 and M6 (J40). Its central location within Cumbria makes it an ideal spot from which to explore the Lake District, Eden Valley, North Pennines and Hadrian’s Wall.
Penrith is a cycle friendly town with the classic C2C, Lakes & Dales loop, LEJOG and National Routes 7 & 71 passing through. The Blue Swallow offers walkers and cyclists drying facilities and cycle storage.
Amazing Hotel
I stayed for 3 nights at the Hotel as I was on a course in Penrith, the owners couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming, their rooms are lovely, breakfast was awesome, and to top it all they’ve a lovely friendly dog.

Great B&B, wonderful hospitality
We stayed for 2 nights in May after walking the Lady Anne Way. The room was surprisingly quiet and the bed so comfortable we had the best nights sleep of the whole week. Alison and Karen are great hosts, very accommodating and friendly. Great breakfast with range of cereal, fruit, toast and cooked breakfast.

Wonderful stay
I stayed four nights with Karen and Alison. They were wonderful hosts, thinking of the many details that make a place feel like home, and were terrific sources of information about walking parts of the Ullswater Way. The room was lovely, clean, and comfortable. The location is very central to Penrith town and to busses to Ullswater, where we hiked. We highly recommend the Blue Swallow to visitors to Penrith.
