Arrival and Departure
Check in is between 4pm and 9pm. We ask that guests provide us with an approximate time of arrival. Please contact us at time of booking if you need to request an earlier check-in; please note that this request cannot be guaranteed. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a check-in any later than 9pm.
We kindly request that rooms are vacated by 10am on day of departure.
For all group bookings please contact us directly to discuss your requirements. It is the responsibility of the person booking the accommodation to ensure that all group members are aware of our Terms and Conditions and that payment is made to us in the event of any cancellation or alteration to the booking.
Rates quoted are for bed and breakfast. A room rate is available, please ask for further details.
Children under 3 stay for free, for children 15 and under we charge £20 per night (when sharing a room with at least 1 adult).
Deposit and Cancellation Policy
No deposit is required at time of booking. Card details are required to secure your reservation.
If your booking is cancelled within 2 days of your arrival date we reserve the right to charge the full cost of your first night’s stay. If you fail to show or leave before your due departure date, we reserve the right to charge you for the full balance due for the whole of your booking. In agreeing to our terms and conditions, you authorise us to take this amount from your card.
We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control and we would make every attempt to find you alternative accommodation. If any prepayment had been made we would refund all monies in full. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Offers are subject to availability and cannot be taken with any other offers. Excludes Christmas, New Year, Easter and bank holidays.
Your account is payable on departure, however, if you are making an early start please make arrangements to settle your account on the day prior to departure. For stays longer than 7 days we reserve the right to request a deposit or payment in full.
Payment can be made by cash, BACS payment (in advance) and the following cards – Visa Debit, Delta, Switch, Maestro, Visa Credit and Mastercard.
Sorry, we do not accept cheques on departure.
During Your Stay
After check in you are welcome to come and go as you please, but we ask that noise is kept to a minimum after 10pm so as not to disturb other guests. Visitors are not allowed in the Guest House without informing us. Hot food and takeaway meals must not be taken into the Guest Rooms.
Damage and Breakage
In the unfortunate circumstance that an accident may occur, we ask that you notify us immediately. We reserve the right to charge for any damage or breakages which we consider to be deliberately or recklessly caused and for any missing items. In the unlikely event that we are unable to re-let the room due to damage caused, we reserve the right to charge for any room nights lost. If any damage, breakages or missing items are discovered after departure you will be notified of any charges in writing as soon as is reasonably practicable. In agreeing to our terms and conditions you authorise us to take this amount from your card.
A nominal charge of £25 will be levied for replacement room keys should the need arise.
The Blue Swallow operates a no smoking/vaping policy throughout the premises. If we find that guests have been smoking/vaping anywhere on the premises then we reserve the right to ask you to leave immediately. You will be liable for the full cost of your booked stay. We also reserve the right to charge the sum equivalent to the cost of one night’s stay if we are unable to re-let the room for 24hrs whilst it is fully aired. If evidence of smoking/vaping is discovered after departure you will be notified of any charges in writing as soon as is reasonably practicable. In agreeing to our terms and conditions you authorise us to take this amount from your card.
Sorry, we do not accept pets. However, we do have our own cross-collie dog called Bunty who is confined to the owner’s accommodation.
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment. Cars, motorcycles and bicycles are left at your own risk.
Any data collected as a result of your booking will be stored in accordance with the provisions of current Data Protection legislation.
Any dispute between us will be governed by the non-exclusive Law of the English Courts.
